UCSA united ukraineIn the aftermath of the recent state visit to Australia by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian Collectibles Society (UCS) on Saturday, December 20, 2014 will release its first official postcard which underlines Australia's moral and financial support for Ukraine. The card quotes Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop. Cards are available for sale through normal local and internet channels by emailing your intended order to bandura@ozemail.com.au Once your email is received you will be sent an order form and payment instructions. The cost per card is AU $2.00 with all proceeds going to humanitarian and medical NGOs in Ukraine that support the ongoing struggle against Russian-backed terrorists.

 

Australia Kashtan Heritage Stamp

UCSA-Kashtan-stampThe Ukrainian Collectibles Society (UCS) of Australia announced the next stamp in the Australian-Ukrainian Heritage personalized stamp and envelope series.   The stamp will be issued April 12, 2014.  Last day to order is March 31, 2014.

The Ukrainian Heritage Personalised Stamp and souvenir envelope series is designed to provide a tangible and collectible philatelic record of the history of various Ukrainian organisations in Australia since 1948, recognising and commemorating their respective unique contributions to Australia’s Ukrainian and wider communities.

Sorochynskyi Yarmarok in Australia

Short video of the Sorochynskyi Yarmarok (Ukrainian Fair) held in Adelaide, Australia on Sunday, December 11, at the Ukrainian Hall.  Look for George Fedyk from the Ukrainian Collectibles Society on stage (good looking guy in the white shirt) together with UCS president Frank Fursenko (dude with the mike) presenting Ulyana Grechaniuk (girl with the red hair) some UCS gifts for the wonder job she did in designing the 20th Anniversary of Ukraine's independence stamp released earlier this year in Syndey at UCSPEX-11.  Adelaide's Ukrainian community applauds their young designer.  Also watch for the wonderful philatelic display!

Australia Releases Plast Personalised Stamp and Commemorative Envelope

During 2011-2012 the Ukrainian Scouting Organisation Plast of Australia is commemorating the centenary of its formation in 1911-1912. The Supreme Plast Council “Holovna Plastova Bulava (HPB)” has released both an official centenary logo (for camp badges) and an official postage stamp design that will be released by many of the international Plast Federal Executives around the world.

The Plast Federal Executive (KPS) in Australia is releasing an Australian commemorative Personalised Stamp and first day of issue envelope (FDC) for the International Centenary Jamboree (UMPZ) to be held in Canberra, ACT, from 26 December 2011 to 3 January 2012.

Australia 20th anniversary Ukrainian independence Personalized Stamp

UCS 3rd National Collectibles ExhibitionThe Ukrainian Collectibles Society (UCS) of Australia announces the release of a Personalised Stamp™ and souvenir first day of issue envelope to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

A first day cover (FDC) with the stamp will be cancelled at the Lidcombe NSW post office on 24 August 2011 and the stamp and FDC will be officially released at the 3rd National Ukrainian Collectibles Exhibition UCSPEX‐2011 at 11:00 am on Saturday 27 August 2011. The venue for UCSPEX‐2011 is the Ukrainian Youth Hall (Club area downstairs), 11‐15 Church Street, LidcomNSW 2141.
